Texas Hold'em
Texas Hold'em is a poker game in which each player receives two private cards and shares five face-up community cards with the table. Players make the best five-card hand from any combination of those seven. Betting happens in four rounds, and a hand ends either when one player is left or at a showdown after the last card.

How is a hand of Texas Hold'em dealt?
Before any cards arrive, the two players to the left of the dealer button post forced bets called the small blind and the big blind. Each player then gets two hole cards, and the first betting round follows. Three community cards (the flop) come next, then a fourth (the turn), then a fifth (the river), with a betting round after each. The button moves one seat to the left after every hand.
What can a player do on each betting round?
Fold, check when no bet has been made, call a bet, or raise. In limit games bets and raises come in fixed sizes; in no-limit games a player may bet any amount up to everything in front of them. The structure changes the strategy more than the rules.
How does a showdown work?
If more than one player remains after the river betting, hands are shown and the best five-card hand wins. A player may use both hole cards, one, or none at all and play the board. Hands are compared by the standard rankings, and identical hands split the pot.
How do casino Hold'em games differ?
Table games such as Ultimate Texas Hold'em are played against the house, not other players. The player posts an Ante and a Blind, may raise once at a point of their choosing, and the dealer must qualify for some bets to be in action. The rules are approved by regulators, and the house edge comes from those rules and the paytables.
